I was looking through some of my old /x/-adjacent bookmarks and found this cute little creepypasta series about a monster called the Skin Daddy. The Creepypasta Wiki pages I had bookmarked were deleted, but the stories were easy to find elsewhere online.

The Skin Daddy series itself is nothing remarkable. It’s just one of many 2spooky4me creepypastas by some guy trying to make a cool monster. There's some interesting retcon in the final story that suggests experimentation with the Skin Daddy character, and he's apparently in a fucking game too. I enjoy noticing little quirks about a series’s creation in the works themselves, and I can respect the fun of developing your character in that way. Creepypastas are meant to be fun digital campfire stories, after all.

Feels like i vaguely remember this. It was interesting when creepypasta just based on sort of internet word of mouth like genuine fable stuff really spread, even if it came from more of a fanfic position rather than something like this or the original crooked man story

yeah, nowadays it seems like creepypasta authors are trying to write actual horror books. i actually own a paperback copy of a story like that lol, it's called penpal. but I do miss when creepypastas were just internet urban legends and campfire stories y'know... if I wanted to read a horror novel i'd just go to the library
