All "scary things" are encapsulated in my love of horror. That being said, I’m particularly fond of surreal horror, splatter, creepypastas, practical effects, the uncanny valley, and body horror. Don’t Hug Me I’m Scared, Shaye Saint John, Popee the Performer and Made in Abyss are my favorite things on the planet and mean a lot to me. I filled out the Interests tab on my profile if you wanna know what else I'm into.
Horror aside, I’m otaku scum and I listen to metal. Utsu-P is my favorite musician. I like cartoons. I go to hardcore gigs sometimes and like getting fucked up in the pit. I collect vintage clown dolls because I love clowns and unique antiques. I drink a lot of iced coffee. I’m a recovering hikikomori. But above all that, I’m a horror junkie.

horror youtubers can't be assed to do even the tiniest amount of research for their content lmaoo. i mean, they have no reason to since most of their audience couldn't care less and just need good background noise.. i swear, for shit like this, people focus the hardest on the video itself when there's a 2-minute long sponsorship they have to skip. lure in your audience with mysterious 3spooky5me clickbait n then cram that skillshare ad down their throats
also, why the fuck are horror channels talking about videos that... even bigger horror channels covered over ten years ago? like, i've gotten about 5 sad satan videos in my recommended this week. i thought we were over sad satan. i thought we all agreed sad satan was super lame and gay
the skin daddy
Jan. 14th, 2025 07:53 pmThe Skin Daddy series itself is nothing remarkable. It’s just one of many 2spooky4me creepypastas by some guy trying to make a cool monster. There's some interesting retcon in the final story that suggests experimentation with the Skin Daddy character, and he's apparently in a fucking game too. I enjoy noticing little quirks about a series’s creation in the works themselves, and I can respect the fun of developing your character in that way. Creepypastas are meant to be fun digital campfire stories, after all.
Here's a link to the Skin Daddy series. It's not a long read at all, should only take 20 minutes max. The individual entries on DeviantART come with images if you'd like to check those out, too:

autism moment
Jan. 5th, 2025 03:05 pmIf you revel in the obscurity of your interests above anything else, it’s immediately clear where your priorities are. You don’t find comfort in the unorthodox, you’re just trying too hard to differentiate yourself from everyone else. You’re not truly embracing individualism and uniqueness if you’re following any kind of trend because you want to be different. Even if that trend is "having niche interests" or whatever. Wanting to be different and being different are not the same thing. If you are genuinely different, then that's fine, but it still doesn't make you better than anyone else. You don't have to be into "niche" shit to be an individual.
Hating something solely because it’s popular is the dumbest fucking thing ever. I feel disconnected from the mainstream, but that doesn’t mean I’m completely averse to the art it has to offer. That would make me close-minded. As an outsider, why do you care about the group consensus of something? Be an individual and form opinions based on your own thoughts: how something makes you feel. There's nothing wrong with liking something super popular, whether you conform to societal norms or not.
I just can't stand when people treat being an outsider like something cool and mysterious, like something superior. I hate how prevalent that warped, idealized concept of “not fitting in” is nowadays. Genuinely way more annoying than being brushed off as a freak, because at least that kind of thing's easy to laugh off.
On a similar note, I hate when people call me goth lmao. It's happened so much, and it immediately shows when someone has the most surface-level, social media-influenced perception of alternative subcultures lol. I’m not goth, and I hate how any woman who dresses in all black is immediately slapped with that label and gets treated weirdly for it (see: fetishization). It’s wrong on so many levels, and it’s only becoming more and more normalized. I guess goth has always been one of those misunderstood subcultures, though. Just hate how things are currently steering.

I love when a scip's cognitohazard is present in and influences its article. SCP-3999 does that wonderfully (it's one of the best, even), but it's long and cacophonous in its presentation. In contrast, 2316 is eerie and slow for such a short article. I love when that kind of creepy, short but sweet pacing is effectively executed in horror fiction. You do not recognize the bodies in the water. SCP-2316 also utilizes the Wiki's HTML in a really cool way that directly relates to the cognitohazard. 2316's just creative all-around, and it deserves all of the appreciation it receives.
Like I said previously, I enjoy 2316 as a solid oneshot. I'm not wholly averse to backstories in the Foundation, but this article has a very specific gimmick going for it that isn't carried out anywhere else. The Kirk Lonwood High School series is cool, but 2316 doesn't need a bunch of lore behind it because it's perfect on its own. So go read it!
craig's big day
Dec. 8th, 2024 09:45 pmBecky and Joe accept the various meanings people draw from their art, and I think they purposefully leave a lot of room for viewer interpretation. I love that about their stuff; that’s a major part of why I find their art so personal. Most of the subject matter of their art is relatable on its own, but I was given room to make it resonate with me by relating it to my specific experiences.
With that being said, I like to view Craig’s Big Day as an autistic man’s depressive episode running its course. There’s no explanation why Craig (seemingly) snapped out of it. Maybe it was all a fever dream, maybe he actually fucking died. But I like to think that he changed his mind once he was actually given the chance to die with the poison. Like, no matter how suicidal you are, you only realize how dire the verge of death is when you’re close to it. But any depressive episode will eventually run its course; it’s like a flow, and it comes in waves. But when it’s over, you feel big and strong and get cool spikes in your hair.
The poison Craig was going to drink was a gift.. I think that’s an obvious metaphor for suicidal ideation. The poison also manifested itself as the sole gift Craig received on his birthday, which I think represents the view of suicide as the only source of escape (Wacky Pig Worm stopped working after a while :(!!!). Because more than anything, Craig is tired. When you’ve been in an MDE, isolated with nothing but your thoughts, it’s only natural to grow tired of it all. But I like to think Craig pulled himself out of it!!
There is a lot to take away from this little series, but I don’t have it in me to write about all of its intricacies right now. I just want to get this out there since I think the few people willing to read a journal like this can appreciate something like Craig’s Big Day. The clock, the birthday meal, the ending.. please watch it yourself and form your own interpretation:
dazai… (2)
Dec. 4th, 2024 12:10 pmI want to die. I want to die more than ever before. There’s no chance now of a recovery. No matter what sort of thing I do, no matter what I do, it’s sure to be a failure, just a final coating applied to my shame. That dream of going on bicycles to see a waterfall framed in summer leaves—it was not for the likes of me. All that can happen now is that one foul, humiliating sin will be piled on another, and my sufferings will become only the more acute. I want to die. I must die. Living itself is the source of sin.
—Osamu Dazai, No Longer Human
Dazai has a lot of quotes that resonate with me, but this one.... aughghh
this is exactly how it feels to lose all hope. you see the wonderful things that exist in the world, but you know that beauty isn't meant for you. you're a dull outsider looking in on a kaleidoscope of color..
I wish I didn't have MDD, but I wouldn't connect with my favorite art so deeply if I wasn’t so miserable lol. This is bittersweet, but I'm glad to have something to hold onto during a time where even the things I normally love feel unfulfilling. Happy escapism is fine, but finding comfort in raw, genuine portrayals of depression provides such a profound sense of solace and understanding that I can’t possibly obtain anywhere else. That relatability is something I value more than anything else during my depressive episodes. It’s nice to feel seen for once. People tend to patronize and sugarcoat clinical depression; they walk on eggshells when discussing heavier aspects of the disorder (like suicidal ideation, self harm..)
means a lot to see depression portrayed in a raw, genuine light
Giygas is a tragic character. I like to think his feelings are similar to the Cartridges from Made in Abyss: a confusing, cacophonous mix of horror, pain, and ecstasy. I can’t imagine what it’s like to lose yourself like that. but while I love him for being pure evil that’s in constant agony, he’s a lot more than that.
tbh more than any evil Giygas embodies in the game’s universe, I love him for exemplifying the fragility of traumatic childhood memories, how they fog up over time but never fully go away... doesn’t matter that Itoi was mistaken about the movie scene; the horror he felt when he saw it as a kid was true. and the point of Giygas isn't to simply portray the alleged rape scene, it's to represent and communicate how Itoi felt when he was traumatized by it as a child.
And the Giygas fight is a crazy tonal shift from the previously established quirkiness Earthbound used to deal with even its most serious subjects (Happy Happy Village...) because Giygas is personal, he was born due to true, real-life horror experienced firsthand by his creator. That's what he embodies more than anything.
Giygas was the reason I played Earthbound in the first place (he was discussed a lot in the nerdy horror circles I lurked around online). and like, despite being spoiled, he still caught me off-guard. I’ll never forget how blown away I was by that entire fight.
Giygas is cool. His design is cool. His story is cool. But the intricacies of his creation are the biggest selling point for me. Those stories of Itoi reading each character and "dot dot dot" out loud for Giygas's dialogue, driving the person typing to tears… like, this is heavy shit lol
Anyone familiar with internet horror knows how overdone plain grey humanoid monsters are, but I think a basic design like that works well for SCP-096. Its jaw and grossly out of proportion
arms are just enough to differentiate it from all the other grey humanoids out there. When you dumb it down, SCP-096 is a monster that kills you if you see its face; it’s a relatively simple concept that’s still unique enough to let the imagination to run wild. So I think the simple monster design is fine. Also, the fact that 096 eats 096-1 is heavily implied with a [DATA EXPUNGED]
... what a cool writing choice!!! I think 096 is a very unique and special guy, even if it is plain-looking.
IMO, the best SCPs work as standalone articles and don’t need much else behind them. SCP-096 has a few official external documents tied to it, but it's fine on its own. Document #096-1 is fucking stupid lmao.. I find the vehement /x/ writing style endearing, but the fact that it's okay to look at drawings of SCP-096 isn't interesting enough to warrant anything more than a brief mention in the actual article. The events detailed in Incident 096-1-A, however, actually add to the horror of SCP-096. This quote pretty much sums it up:
( spoiler? )So, Incident 096-1-A uses what was previously established about SCP-096 to help the reader realize something absolutely horrifying. That's how you add onto an SCP article with external documents. Like, this is fucking awesome!!!!!
Here's a funny video of some guy finding SCP-096 in Containment Breach. I watched it all the time when I was a kid. He also found it again.
